Ugh...
So I got what I suspected for the last 24 hours, a slight cold. Its not one that I would even notice but its enough to have me worried. I think it will just be a sore throat and I hope it doesn't take too much energy away. Pop a few more vitamin c pills tonight and get a good rest and hope for the best.
Set to go...
Well, I'm pretty much packed. Need to recharge the lights and get some ice but besides that ready to go. Pulled a muscle in my neck last night playing with the kids, doesn't seem to be that bad though. Good luck to all those going and thanks to the volunteers that will make this possible. Hope to meet some of you there.

2 days 22 hours
Today is a zen day. I feel relaxed, the legs are starting to feel strong and I'm not anxious like the last few days. Looking forward to some real good weather and some good riding. I've stopped over planning and decided to drop the bag at 3 instead of 2/6. I have plenty of food so its just a matter of spinning the bike and enjoying the scenery.

Bike is cleaned
Cleaned the bike last night and made sure everything was ready to go. Lost the power link for the chain. Damn thing hit the ground and bounced somewhere. Had a spare so I'm still set to go. Day 1 of recovery has begun.

SM100 Weather
Saturday Sunny 82/58
Sunday Sunny 83/57
Monday Sunny 82/62
Sweet... wonder if I need some arm warmers for the morning. It will probably be a few degrees cooler on the mountain / in the woods.

4 days to go...
Pretty much done with the bike for now. Saturday I got a short ride in to make sure everything was ok. I had Germantown Cycles put on new brake pads and fluid since my brakes were hurting after our pre-ride a few weeks ago. Better safe than sorry, I was planning on doing it this winter anyway. Bikes a go. The weather better be better though. I rode from 8am - 10am only and by 10am it was so freaking hot and humid I was ready to go home to the AC. Right now they are calling for a high of 80 which will be terrific. Today I did the commute into work on the bike just to run the legs one more time. After today, 4 days of solid recovery so that I can be as ready as possible. Starting to get everything packed up so that Saturday isn't chaotic...

Crushed... my will has been broken
Did the pre-ride for the SM100 on Sunday. Drove the 3 hours down to Stokesville and back that night. We rode for about 6 hours doing the last 40 miles of the course. OMG... I was crushed, destroyed, whatever... I mentally broke around 30 miles and would of quit if I had the opportunity. I seriously doubt that I can do the 100 miles now and even was just going to say f**k it and skip the whole thing. I've talked myself back into it now and I'm going to just go until I can't go and that will be it. If the bike ain't broken or I don't fall over dead I will keep going even if that means walking the damn bike. Forget 12-14 hours, 16+ hours here we come...
