Paris

Got to Paris this Monday morning and am leaving tomorrow. Most of the time was spent at work, but I did get a little time on Monday when it was raining and a few hours in the nice weather today. Went on the cathedral run (love those old things) and saw the Notre Dame, St. Severin, St. Sulpice and some others. The rose line was pretty cool, missed that the first time I did my whirlwind tour. I didn't get to see Sainte-Chapelle because of the line. :( Photos here.

I went into the Louvre also, twice to be exact. Never had a real desire but it was really cool, so much that I went back on Thursday for two hours. I also learned my first french word... Louvre = helplessly lost. I have a good sense of direction, but my god it was easy to get lost in that labyrinth. The crowds were around the Mona Lisa. But this was the hardest thing to find.

The food in Paris is first rate. One good mean after another, even if you do have to wait till 7pm before dinner is served. I tried the Escargot which in the Oily Basil is excellent. I also found something I never expected, Tartare. Its basically raw ground steak. I like raw ground beef, never thought anyone one actually serve it. This stuff is A+ excellent. Shame I won't get it again. :(

The bike and motorcycle culture is really cool. The bikes and motorcycles/scooters just flow through the cars like water and no one gets upset or does something stupid. Lots of respect. Makes me want to get a motorcycle to compliment my bikes. :) They had lots of interesting vehicles like this one.
